Through this unit you will study:

ü  The cause and effects of growing population.
ü  Population, Distribution, Density and Growth.
ü  The different reasons for migration movements.
ü  Social and political effects of migration in Mexico
ü   The concentration of the population: cities and country side
ü  Human risk and vulnerability to natural hazards.

Objectives
By the end of this unit, you will:
ü  Describe the factors that cause large populations in some parts of the world and limit populations in other parts
ü  Explain how population density is measured
ü  Summarize how the geography of a country helps determine the size of its population.
ü  Comprehend migration and its social, cultural and economical effects
ü  Summarize the importance of the remittances in Mexico
ü  Identify the risk and vulnerability of population.
